Bethany Christian Services

Bethany is the largest Christian child and family organization in the U.S.  Motivated by faith, they serve clients through foster care, adoption, refugee and immigrant services, and family strengthening services.

Bethany’s founders, Mary and Marguerite, chose to name their organization after the biblical town, just outside Jerusalem. Bethany is where Jesus’ friends, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, opened their home to him. He found community there. He was loved there. Welcomed there. And he received rest there, away from the crowds. Today, we want everyone to know that Bethany is a place where followers of Jesus continue to offer love, welcome, and refuge to children and families that need it most.

In the U.S., more than 122,000 children and teens in foster care are waiting to be adopted.  Children enter foster care after being removed from their families due to neglect or abuse.  Foster care is meant to be temporary, where the primary goal is reuniting a child with their family as soon as it’s safe to do so.  But when this isn’t possible, children and teens need a family that will always be there for them.

Bethany believes God calls us to step in with compassion and courage. But they can’t do it alone.  You can help give children the security of a stable, nurturing family.  To learn more about foster care adoption at Bethany go to https://bethany.org/ and view the Adoption from Foster Care page.

Refugee and Immigrant Foster Care

Worldwide, 108.4 million people have been forcibly displaced from their home due to persecution, violence, conflict, famine, and natural disasters. Children represent 40% of all people seeking safety. Children who arrive in the U.S. without any family or family friends may be placed in long-term refugee and immigrant foster care. When family reunification is not possible, the best option is to be cared for by a foster family until they reach early adulthood.  Refugee and immigrant children resetting in the U.S. have experienced a difficult journey.  If you become a foster parent, they’ll experience the benefits of a loving, stable family.

National Embryo Donation Center

National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) is the world’s leading nonprofit organization helping both embryo donors and recipients.  The vision of the NEDC is to share the love of Christ through the life-affirming process of embryo adoption while striving to place every donated embryo into a loving home.

Now in its fifth decade, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproduction technologies (ART) have been the answer to many families’ baby prayers. However, this success has created a surplus of frozen human embryos. Many biological parents store their frozen embryos for future use. But when those parents have completed their families, they must decide what to do with their remaining embryos. Donating them to another infertile couple is an increasingly popular option. It benefits both the genetic family and the recipient family.

Embryo donation, sometimes called embryo adoption, offers embryos the potential of birth. It also allows the recipient mother the chance to carry her adopted child and control the prenatal environment. Embryo donation can be an opportunity for many who have given up hope of ever raising a child.
